Don't you all threaten to hang me, but I drew tag #26 for AZ, Unit 10, early rifle elk (8 points). My friends are not talking to me after this stunt, as I already had NV elk Unit 111-115, 221, 222 Early (7 points), and WY pronghorn Unit 95. Before you all start throwing stones at me, understand that I apply for over 30 NR tags each year and have done so for 10 years. Before this year, I had only drawn 3 other limited entry tags.

If any of you have hunted the early hunt in this unit, I would appreciate any information you are willing to share. I will not use and outfitter, preferring to do it myself. I get more enjoyment that way, even if I don't shoot something huge.

Any archery hunters who might be willing to work with me in sharing information? I will be there scouting the week before the early rifle season, while archery is going on, so I would be glad to help in any way I can in exchange for information, not specifics, but general trends you are observing.

Hope all of you have a great hunting season.

'ElmerFudd' on M&M had it last year. The Az. #10 tag!

Ya need any intel on Wyo. #95 speed goat let me know.

Sweet year of hunting for you brothaaaa!

Okay, get the rope....

Way cool, congatulations on all the tags, percerverance pays off. I'd negotiate for a volume discount from your Taxidermast.

With 50 tags (62 last year)every hunter will have 3-6 helpers, spotters etc. which makes it lot busier than you would expect. Some of the spotting hills in parts of the Boquillas looked like Bogen and Swarovski retail outlets in the morning and evening with the number of helpers spotting with radios.
A large area of the central Boquillas was closed to vehicles 2 days before the hunt allegedly due to road damage but vehicle lights were visible before and after daylight on several of the days we were spotting and could see into the closed areas. My unconfirmed concern is that some sort of deal for outfitting in the area was made.
With that said 10 is HUGE with lots of elk. we had a wonderful trip (14 days), saw and passed many nice elk and ultimately did not kill. I would take that hunt anytime.
Hopefully, with 12 less hunters and this years horn growth, you should do well.
