Hi all-
My group of three guys are going to unit 33/34 to hunt elk during the first week of elk season thi year. I was hoping to get some advice on the area. We are planning on backpacking and setting up base camp about 3-5 miles form the trailhead. Will I be able to escape most hunters by doing this. Again, solitude is almost as precious as seein the elk.
What are the elk/mule deer densities like? Terrain? What are the hunting tactics that work best this time of year in this region. Thanks in advance.
