We have an opportunity to archery hunt some private land in this GMU# 501 in Colorado. The only thing that I know of this area so far is;there is one full section of hayfields that the elk are feeding in on this landowners place, and it has about a full mile of river frontage on the Terryall River (SP.) out of Lake George. The other side of it butts up to the Lost Creek Wilderness area, and since this is a limited draw area, there should be minimal hunting pressure. It is in Park County, which shows up in our Pope & Young newsletter on a fairly regular basis.Does anyone else have any other info. on this particular area, and know of the general caliber of bulls that one would expect to see.Thank's guy's for any help!

Hello. Where exactly along the Taryall are you talking ? The elk herd in 50 and 501 isn't very large, most of that DAU population is in unit 500. There are some good bulls around Tarryall Reservoir and then they move to private land pretty fast. I spend a lot of time up there fishing and taking pictures of sheep. Drop me an email at [email protected]
