Just wondering if anybody has seen any moose while doing their scouting this summer. A friend at work drew a Wasatch moose, and hasn't been able to get out much due to his work schedule. I told him I would post a message on M. M. Hope you guys can help.

I have not been up on the wasatch yet this year. However, there are always some good bulls in Lambs canyon, Mill creek, and Big Cottonwood. Keep asking around especially as people get out hunting. They will usually tell you where they see the moose. They won't tell you where the elk are but then again I would not either. Good luck to your friend. That should be an awesome hunt. My buddy drew out 2 years ago and killed a 42" bull the first weekend. Probably could have done better had he held out but he was pumped. I have heard rumors of some good bulls up AF canyon as well. Have a good one.

I hate to say this but hunted the Wasatch a couple of years back and you can't find Elk up there then there is NO WAY you are looking. More ELk (BULLS) than any other state I have ever hunted times 10!!!!!!!!!

I guess I could look this up myself but, where exactly does this UNIT cover? TS

Does your buddy shoot a bow? If so, I would highly recomend Big Cottonwood up Willow Creek or Silver Fork. Have been seeing some great bulls up Little Cottonwood in the city of Alta. The problem is you can't hunt these bulls until they pull out of the city limits.

I would also look up Lambs Canyon as their are some great bulls in there. The problem being with all of these ares is that I believe it is archery only.

BOX CREEK,

THERE ARE SOME BIG BULLS UP LAMBS CANYON, BUT YOU HAVE TO LOOK UP HIGH AND DEAL WITH THE CABIN PEOPLE. THEY CAN REALLY GIVE YOU HECK. BUT WELL WORTH IT. TAKE YOUR PACK FRAM WITH YOU YOU WILL NEED IT. THERE IS A TURN OUT JUST BELOW THE FIRST CABIN ON THE RIGHT SIDE, PARK THERE AND GO STRAIGHT UP TO THE TOP. YOU MIGHT COUGH UP A LUNG BUT ALOT OF THAT PLACE YOU CAN'T SEE FROM THE ROAD. LOOK TO THE PINES WERE THE HANG OUT JUST BELOW THE TOP OF THE RIDGE. GOOD LUCK

My buddies Dad last year had some great success up AF Canyon. He ended up with a bull over 40' and now it's on his wall. He shot the bull up by the Silver Lake area, I actually believe it was by the Mineral Basin area.... They saw lots of bulls and caught his bull right before dark on the dirt road up there. Ended up shooting him 30 yards from the road...

Funny thing is was the Bull was down at 6:30 pm, they called us to and some others for help, we finally had the bugger in the truck at 2:00 AM.... Lots of work, but lots of fun!

Donny Hunter of Highland was the guy that took him. He's a great bull!
