Hot Core bullets

Do any of you have experience using Speer hot core bullets for elk. If so how did they perform?

I have used a 180 gr Speer Hot Core on a 5 point bull at 80 yards. One shot, bullet hit on left front shoulder and was found in back right hit. 50% left. Also have used it on many deer, no problems.
