need an elk voucher

I am looking for a landowner elk voucher for a first rifle season in colorado 67 or first rifle somewhere in New Mexico. I am looking for something reasonable that offers the opportunity for,,, you guessed it, plenty of animals, low pressure - quality isn't at the top of the list. This tag is for my wife who wants to go elk hunting and this year we should have the time. Or if anyone can reccomend - I know this is a loaded question - a unit and season in Colorado that is OTC, I know of several areas, but most that I know of have way too many hunters, hence the thought of buying a limited landowner voucher. Thanks for any advice.

Todd many landowners in NM hold their tags for someone who never sends tehm cash or are to busy to sell them and at last minute get desperate. Rifle tags are much much harder though. However every year in NM I see a few great deals last minute, I am SURE if you called around about the start of our hunt you can find something if you spend a LOT of time on the phone.

You can also contact game biologists, often landowners come to them asking if they know anyone, also look in the abq journal.

Rifle tag are near worth their weight in gold, especially with the newer CC draw system, and with the tag cuts this year.

Keep an eye on Ebay for Colorado tags. 67 is still going for about 3,500.00 but I can sense some of these guys are starting to get worried and if you don't mind holding out, as seasons draw near you might be able to get a good price. washed out by Hurricane Katrina. My wife needs to sell her NM Unit 52 mature bull unitwide all seasons landowner permit. we pd $2000 for it ..will considr less as season gets closer. at full price I'll show u the honey holes.
