AZ VELVET

I've seen pictures of a bunch of hard horned elk lately from other states. How about AZ?? I was up scouting in 3C this past weekend and all the bulls I saw were sporting full velvet. Anybody seen any hard horned bulls yet? What area are you scouting?

Saw a 290 six point in 7W on Saturday evening with no velvet while archery deer hunting. Heard a bunch of cow elk calling and even one bugle.

Talk to a guy that was scouting Unit 10 and he said alot of bulls in hard horns. He also said horn growth was the best he had seen in 20 years or more.

Scouting last weekend all large bulls were hard horned the small spikes etc still had velvet.
