New Mexico Unit 52 Lodging

Anybody know of lodging options in Unit 52? Are there any cabins to rent? Ranchers who rent cabins? Motels - I could only find in Taos or Chama. Thanks in advance for the help. Good luck to all this fall & keep the folks in Louisiana & Mississippi in your prayers.

Thats a tough one. I have only talked to one guy who has a cabin in 52 and it goes with the tags that he had. I would check for a place in Ojo Caliente. Thats still gonna be around an hours drive to the unit. Not alot of hotel options around there. Where are you coming from? send me an email at [email protected]

Really your best option is to camp out there. I'm hunting 52 first rifle hunt.

The closest motel to the unit is in Antonito, Colorado. I would come prepared to camp out.

Several motels and a cafe in Antonito. No listing for them and my older memory fails me, so check yellow pages. Extra 1/2 hour drive to the mountain and out towards Lagunitas but worth it not to drag the trailer down. Stayed with Mick Chapel and Jess Rankin at one last year when antelope hunting. There were a lot of primo camping spots open up towards Chama (?) if thats what you like.

Same as above, camp there is by far your best option, if you have rifle tag driving from hotel could take a while if there is snow, would have to get up very early to be up mnt by legal light
