Arizona 6a question

My huntin buddy and I drew for late muzz tags on 6a in Az this year. I'm starting to do some homework on the unit and have a few questions. We are going to go down a week before the hunt and get familiar with the area but still need a couple of general areas to start looking. We are do-it yourselfers so a guide is monetarily out of the questions. During this time of the year, is the unit mostly comrised of migratory elk? If you drew this tag, where would you start your quest? I'm going to contact the area biologist to get a few iideas also. thanks.

Luck to you also Muskrat. This is our first elk tag in AZ also. thanks for the replies. with the weather starting to turn we are starting to get pumped.

I killed my bull in the rattlesnake wilderness area. The are holds some nice bulls and few hunters. Good luck!

Forest road 229 and 230. Right in the middle of those roads are good. Forest road 213 south to forest road 644 is also good. Forest road 756 and 83. And if all else fails goto forest road 214!!
