Wanted to share a couple of pics from my friends successful archery elk hunt.

I called the bull to 12 yards, he made the shot, and the bull only went about 50 yards.

Fun hunt!

No Gut's...No Story!!!

Makes it all the more special when you got the young un's along for the hunt. Great bull and congrats.

Crazy lookin bull, A ounce in a lifetime for sure!!

Did he show any signs of growing the fronts at all?

I see his left antler is coming out of his head at an odd angle. Were you hunting unit 9 by chance. I have seen quite a few bulls on 9 with that same antler configuration. Usually the odd horn is a spike or 2 point. Its in the gene pool for sure. Big Bull congrats. Unique trophy .

We were in unit one, but I have found a bunch of sheds from 9 and other units with similar antlers.

He did have little bumps where the g-1 and g-2s would have been.

Congrats to you on the Bull, I too have a weird left antler Bull like yours too. Not as big as yours but a 4x3 and the left comes out just like yours into a three point. The right was normal with eyeguard and the 3 tines. Got mine up out of Lima, MT back in 2000.
Still wonder what causes it, they, the bulls must have played around as young bulls and damaged their bases there to come out the front like they do.

Nice unique bull. I would guess that he damaged his pedicle when he was younger and the unique rack is a result. Usually when that happens they don't grow out as well as he did. Still a nice trophy and a job well done! Enjoy!!

Great job, especially to have your son there. That bull is unique but is great for conversation and talk about how he developed it. Way to be!

Congrats on a great bull ! I'd love to get a bull like that , in a heartbeat . Thanks for sharing ....NM

Great bull...saw one like that 2 years ago...not that big of course but a weird left side antler...and of couse no bull tag to fill!
