Yes thats right, really hard to believe and I wouldnt have if I hadnt been there. This last weekend we were hunting with my wife for her big bull and we had my 3 year old son there, who already is a hunting freak, and for fun we let him "bugle" into a tube. Well I thought after 2 or three tries the elk would figure out something is not right and get the heck out of dodge, not the case, without a reed he was bugling when we told him to and he had elk talking back to him, and he called in a bull. Not a big bull probably about 300 maybe 310, but still not bad for a 3 year old. One of the craziest and funniest things I have ever seen. And no my wife didnt shoot it, she has until october 31st to get one so we are being a little picky at this point.

That is awesome! A buddy of mine did the same thing with his son who is 3. He was all decked out with camo and had his binos and a bugle without a reed as well. That is awesome best of luck to you guys on your hunt.

Guy I work with had his 4 yr old and wife with him two fridays ago. The boy was playing around with a cow call and called in a raghorn bull. I had the privilage of boning and packing the next day. That little guy called in some of the best steaks I've had in some time!

Im glad others have had the same experience. I figured people would think I was blowing smoke out my butt, but it happened and it was cool.

My Son got a turkey to gobble by blowing a crow call when he was three. He also rattled up a whitetail last year at six. Some of the little guys and gals have a real talent for it. Nothing like making them part of the team.

i have a buddy whos 3 year old son can bugle well also. this kid can spot also! we were out in 7e the other day and he saw 2 deer that gabe and i did not see. one of them was a east spot we just missed and the other was an awesome spot walking through thick timber about 100 yards off.

I've got one of those stories also. Not an elk, but a whitetail. Last fall, I took my five year old and two year old to one of my deer blinds. Didn't plan on shooting anything, but just wanted to take them out. Had a grunt tube and rattling horns in the blind. I was being grumpy and wouldn't let them play with them. Finally right at dark I gave in. The oldest started playing with the grunt tube. Pee wee got the horns and before I could stop him was hanging out the blind beating the horns against the tin.

Of course what happens - here come the deer to see just what on earth is going on. I had an outright mutiny on my hands until I went ahead and shot one of them. They wouldn't hear of me not killing a deer that they called in for me.

Absolutely priceless. That one was as memorable as any deer I've killed to date.

That is awesome!
My 5 year old has been calling coyotes for me since she was 3. She dosent even use a call. You know how high-pitched little girls can scream. She picked it up all on her own by listening to the coyotes around here at night. She use to love to scare the crap out of my wife by doing it when she went to the barn to feed. I have shot around 30 coyotes that she has called up for me. My oldest girl (8) is a master at rattling whitetails. She has rattled up close to a dozen. It gives me goose bumps to see those little girls having so much fun and actually getting results out of their efforts.

Our five year old is doing the same thing in response to elk hunting videos. We watch them every Saturday and he practices during commercials. He will be going with my wife and I on a rifle hunt back to Colorado next month.

It is amazing what kids can do at such an early age.

thats nothing my daughter has been bugling them in since she was 6 months old. I would sit her in my lap and we would watch elk hunting videos together and she would mimic the scream of the elk . and the cow calls she thought it was big fun.
