First Time Hunt WY

I will be heading to Wyoming Oct 16th to hunt for a bull elk for a week then Idaho to hunt Muleys for a week. Its gonna be a hunt of a lifetime plus all the benefits of hunting (great hunting stories, dirty jokes, drinks and food, and fun). Im going with a longtime family friend (from Idaho) Our families have hunted together a few generations. I began hunting Muleys in Northen California with my Dad and Mom when I was young. As a matter of fact, my dad was hunting when I was born (the Dr said I was a couple weeks away, but not so) I have become an avid tracker and enjoy hunting so much my heart is pounding just reading the posts on MM. This is my first post and the next will hopefully have pictures of the results from my hunt. Good luck to all.

Thanks for the welcome to MM. I will post my report of Wyoming and also Idaho when I return from my trip, pictures, too! I'm limited to certain areas since Im not using a guide, but have great areas Im headed back into where some friends have buck hunted and been sucessful and see lots of elk. Ill be givin it all I got & best of all a great time. I have friends that are hunting X3B in Northern Calif for Muleys and have gotten a 5X5 26" and a smaller 3X4, with 3 more tags to fill.

Where are you going to be hunting in Wyoming?

I'll be hunting out of Jackson Hole. I have areas to go south of there all the way down to Afton. I have a nonresident general antlered elk tag. Any others in the area during this time? let me know
