Shortest Elk Season?

Well I know oregons has got to be one of the shortest elk seasons with only a 5 day first season branch bull tag hunt. This effects almost all or the entire eastern portion of the state. So trying to kill a trophy bull in 5 days aint easy!

What are some of yalls season look like. I know some of you have Rut rifle tags and such so lets here whats some season look like for other states?

In Colorado most are 5-6 day seasons except the second rifle which runs around 9 days. They changed them up quite a bit a few years ago.

Colorado for sure...

1st season (elk only) - 5 days
2nd season (elk/deer) - 9 days
3rd season (elk/deer) - 7 days
4th season (elk/deer) - 5 days

The 1st and 4th seasons are draw only while 2nd and 3rd seasons you can buy an OTC bull tag.

I hunted 1st season for the past 3 years and was most often frustrated with the shortness as I was just starting to figure out what was going on that year and about to make it work for my benefit when the season was over. This year I'm hunting 2nd season because I didn't draw 1st. But I'm looking forward to 9 days very much!
