Last night after talking with a friend. He tells me of two girls who drew LE elk tags on Utah San Juan unit. One of the girls last name is Higley. The other is her friend. For the story we will call the friend (Girl) Turns out they both took nice elk 350 there abouts. Any way on the way home from the hunt girls truck and trailor had an accident rollover I think. Elk was in the back of trailor or truck. The elk busted all to heck and that is all I know. Who knows the story? Are they ok and so on? Any pics of the elk!! Did things turn out ok??

I now both families real well. Donna and her husband were pulling a camp trailer with atv and elk in the back of truck. A lady lost control of her car and over corrected, smacking them in the side, sending them over the cement barrier and off the embankment beford an overpass in the provo area. The atv and elk head were sent over the cab and onto the road below, breaking only the skull plate on the 350 elk and totaling the atv. The trailer was ripped offthe frame and came to rest next the truck and both were totaled. The couples sons were in a truck following and witnessed it, thinking both just got killed. They walked away with no injuries. Miracle! I saw the video of the vehicles after acciddent at the scene and its pretty incrediblle. Congrats to both Diane and Donna on the hunts after applying for 16 straight years.

Yelum, thanks for the good news. Thank God they were not injured. Elk antlers and 4-wheelers can ALWAYS be replaced.

On the second note to find not one but 2 girls that hunt elk now that is a diferent story. One thing for sure ya don't want em all broke up if your hunting 2 of em. I only know of 1 other heard of two. That would b pred and Girly and some one went and gots em all skull boiling madd at me.

Thanks about the boys hunt. I'm still tickled how it went.

I do know Mark, I've only met his ex a few times. Haven't heard much about her hunt other than her youngest boy went on it and helped her. He had drawn the tag about 6 or 7 years ago and shot 370+ bull. I've seen Donna's bull and video of the hunt. They didn't get the kill shot but got some neat footage of other bulls. She made a 354 yards shot on him. The taxi can fix the antlers easy enough. She got it on the 8th day of the hunt. Her husband also had a speedgoat hunt the same period but waited till she killed. Then on his last day he went and hunted a few hours, past on some small ones and then on his way home killed a buck that may go book. It was his first antelope hunt. He was also hit by adrunk driver about a mile from that accident just the week before. Pretty lucky or unlucky either way you look at it.

Holy crap, I didnt even here this story until today when a decided to read the elk stories. I helped guide Donna, and Diane, great ladies, Dennis and Donna and there sons are very nice people and great hunters, I was shocked to read this, I am glad they are all okay. That really sucks, I wish bad things wouldn't happen to such wonderful people. God Bless them.
