If I could see him through my scope well with no artificial light, then thats shooting time for me...dont really check the watch, who can keep track of time anyways.

I hunt because it is enjoyable and for the love of the sport. I wouldn't break a law for an animal not only because it is wrong, but I would have to live with doing something that I would regret and feel bad about. Ethics is important to me as a person and a hunter. Show me a hunter that breaks a game law and I will show you someone that cheats at golf, lies, and has a "it's all about me" attitude.

I don't hunt looking at my watch or the sunrise sunset chart in my hand. If it was light enough I would have shot. I guess thinking about it I've probably shot a few that were not during the right time of day. They all died before I needed a flashlight to find them. I hunt until dark. Sorry for being honest.

Have to be honest here....I don't usually carry a watch (even though I did this year) because mine is silver and shiney. So...when it comes to shooting light, I shoot only if it is safe and I can see well. As far as road hunting...its not my thing. My primer is out when I'm on the road.

The way I see it there is about a dozen or so very opinionated self rightous A$$HOLES on these forums. 98% of us just want advice, to read stories, and see a few pics of successful hunts. Recently there have been quite a few posts about what some of you consider unethical, unlawful, or your description of a "SLOB" hunter. Save it for your campfire B.S. sessions. If you feel someone has broken a law then turn him in. Period. I don't want to hear how you hypocrites have never broken any laws, how great of a hunter you are, how much better you are than the rest of us, or how you will run us out of "your forums". FU and the ATV you rode in on A$$WIPE. Who gives a SH!T how many times you have posted, we all have opinions to express, and none of them get any better if you post more often than the next guy. As for my personal info(name and e-mail address), thats none of your business. I'd rather not have you sending me harassing e-mails or threating to beat me up. By the way, at 6'5" and 265 lbs. I can vouch for RIMROCK! We here at NTHA don't allow our officers to conduct themselves in that manner.

What if you're hunting in Utah and you are from California, and you forgot to change your watch to local time, and you honestly thought it was still legal shooting time? You got the elk all loaded up in your truck, driving back to town. Then you discover the mistake. Do you turn yourself in? If you're an ethical hunter you got NO CHOICE but to do the right thing and confess to the warden. Personally, I'm not that ethical.

If it's still light enough you can see the animal clearly enough to make a logical, deadly shot then I would shoot. In my eyes, if I can see him clearly enough to know exactly what i'm shooting at it's still legal shooting time.
With a bow on the other hand, No.
