Leaving from PA in less than 24 Hrs for Montana elk. Didn't bag 1 with the bow, so heading back out w/ the rifle. Going west of Gardiner. Any snow up high yet? Weather says that we should have snow showers for the next few days, but that's down low in towns. We'll be hunting 8000+ w/ horses and I was just wondering what the high country has. And, if anyone has a guaranteed honey hole with a 6 point tied up, and want's to give me the exact location, that'd help too.

The snow could be up to your knee above 8,000 feet and bone dry down lower. It's good to hunt high for big bulls right now. I hear the Cinnabar ranch around Gardiner is better in January or February. Less competition and they "Give" out ranch tags. LOL

Good Luck!

The snow isn't that deep yet. 6 inches at the deepest. Just watch for griz. Your in there bedroom up that way.
