As you'll see below our camp had an awesome hunt. We had 5 guys in camp (3 any bull tags & 2 general season spike tags). My father got his 5x6 on the 25th, I got my 6x6 on the 29th, and the remaining tags (3x3, and 2 spikes) were filled on Sunday the 30th.

This next picture shows you what a night of decent snow fall can bring to the Cascades. At midnight when nature called there was only a trace, by the time we broke camp around noon we had about 1.5 feet. I can only imaging the what it looks like up there now!

It doesn't get any better with that when it come to filling tags!
Congratulations to all of you!

Did you guys get any snow? :)

Didn't you shoot that six point with a borrowed gun? I work with the guy that lent you his rifle. Nice Bull! I'm the guy that shot the 5x4 below you late on Friday afternoon. I bet you guys had a tough time with the snow drifts heading down.

looks like you guys had a good year. How long did it take you guys to draw any bull permits. Did you get the bulls before the snow fell.

I hope the guys with the big campers and RVs got out before the big snow . Seams like every year when the snow comes there is a freeway of campers and RVs trying to get off the mountain and couple jackknife or get skuck in the ditch. It takes a few trucks to try and get them out.

We hunted the Nile unit and the day before general opened was quite the processional of huge trailers, motorhomes etc heading higher and higher...I think people forget its hard to get them out when the roads get snowy and icy...Thats why I like to stay in a tent and lower on the hill! I bet the spike season was decent though!

Awesome....can't ask for anything more than that. The top picture is great....congrats to all of you.

We had 6 pts each (put in as a group). We got the two larger bulls earlier before we had much snow. The 3pt and two spikes came on the morning we had about 1". The follow morning is when the big snow dump began.

This would be the one. With my first shot I hit him high in the lungs (verified after cleaning/skinning), although he seemed to barely flinch. The second shot I missed, which i'm chalking it up to being EXTREMELY unhappy/nervous that I didn't see much action after the first shot and the fact that he was heading into the timber. In the midst of cycling my 3rd round, my gun seemed to jam. Discovereing later that the bolt face didn't pull out my 2nd spent casing (damn control round feeding). That is when Tom told me to pick up his rifle. The final shot hit high and broke his back. Tell Tom thanks again!

That's what I call an elk camp for the memories. Sounds like a sweet hunt. I get guys are doing AWESOME this year with all the weather. Thanks for sharing your success.

Congratulations WAShooter! That is an excellent hunt with family and friends to enjoy it to boot! I'm sure you'll never forget that hunt. Hope you took lots of pictures. Congrats to all.

No, all 5 were taken on public land just west of Yakima, WA. The Peaches Ridge area is comprised of GMU 336 & 346.

Your certainly welcome. Its almost as nice to see one go down as to shoot it yourself. ALMOST!!!!! Matt did fill his cow tag saturday. Were also looking to thank the people who dropped off the two loads off wood at camp.
