Just got back from my muzzy bull elk hunt in Nevada. This is actually the first bull that I have killed. Drew the tag on two points. Hunted several different areas in the 111-115, 221,222 unit and saw approx. 25 bulls. They have an over abundance of bulls and only 4-5 of the bulls we saw weren't broke off in some way or another. 55+ Bulls per 100 cows. They have a lot of fighting to do if they even think about breeding. Weather was almost too nice. Most bulls we saw together was 3. He was the second largest bull we saw. The largest was a great bull, but had 5"-6" G-5's on both sides. Shot him twice at 150 yards with a .50 cal ruger in-line open sights. He stood there like nothing happened. He walked away about 50 yds and we waited for him to fall over, but he didn't. Reloaded again and shot over him. Reloaded again and shot him square in the back. Kicked over backwards and slide/rolled 150+ yards down a rock chute. It was a great hunt and a great time. He had his G-2 and G-5 broken on the left side. Hunted with Western Frontier Adventures and would recommend them to anyone. Great group of guys. This rounded out my hunting season with my first antelope, first bull moose and first bull elk. What a ride it has been. Real tired of processing meat!!!!
