Here is my bull from this weekend. The hunt was unbelievable defiantly worth the wait.

Awesome bull! Man I always hear to bring rope to tie an elk of while cutting up, have not yet needed one - I bet you did! Yikes that looks steep.

How was the action? Plenty of elk? I am considering a late hunt for better draw odds.

Congrat's!

DonV,

There was plenty of rope used to keep him on the mountain, it was straight up. The hunt was awsome, I saw over 50 bulls each day.

Holy crap ARROW. That has to be in the top 3 bulls I have seen dead this year. Not that it matters at all, but do you have a score on him for curiosity reasons? 390+?

What a great bull he is!!! What caliber is that "thumbhole" your using?
Congrats!!

The rifle is a 30-378, it's a cannon. We put the tape on him it looks like he will go someware in the 360's.

That really surprises me ARROW. I would have guessed him higher. Who cares though. That is a big nice bull and I would be real happy with him. Good job.

Beautiful bull. The backside is amazing...on BOTH sides!
Congratulations!
Looks like more antler than 360!

Russ,

When I shot I had to stand up because the oak brush was to tall to shoot over so I used a bogen tripod fully extended and had to make the shot standing up. I missed the first shot and then hit him on the second.

The amazing thing about this was that I had scouted this area for months and had never seen this bull. I saw all of the bulls that he was with but never him. My guys helping me spotted him saturday morning but could not get to him before he bedded down. Saturday night we found him bedded, but we could just see bits and pices of his rack and I was not sure if I wanted to shoot him. Once he got up I decided that he was definatly the bull I wanted, but he never would give me a shot. We found him again sunday morning, quite a ways from where he was sat night, and I was able to get in on him and take him.

What an awsome hunt, I was surrounded by good friends and family that really helped out a lot and made all of this possible.

CONgrats on an awesome bull!! I was waiting to see how you'd do!!

If you dont mind, would you send me a PM with some more details, Im just curious if he was in the any of the areas we had discussed prior!

Again, congrats, he is an absolute HOG!!

What Utah Unit did you draw? Seems like every mountain looks like the same with snow in the background! :)

Holy crap, ARROWHNTR! Very nice bull. Just because it has a carbon barrel, doesn't make it right;)

RE: YA,NOW I'M MAD!!! WRONG!!!

Bobcat,

I didn't call you a stupid idiot. I might have called you an idiot, but not stupid. LOL

Great bull! That is a beast.

Baeuty bull. The 30-378 is great, the Bull is fantastic and the fact that Jonny Damon was there to share it all with you is priceless. Great bull. I agree, looks more like a 380 bull to me.

John Smoltz,Major League Baseball. You are hilarious Wallhanger. Are you going to let your son out shoot you again this weekend? Here's a fantasy hunting team for ya- Daryl Strawberry all coked up and awake all day to scope the hillside, Ken Caminetti to fall out of the tree stand, Yankee fans to throw D cells at big bulls,John Rocker to hunt "Blacktails", and Barry U.S. Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Jason Giambi to pack out the 800 lbs of elk the 13 miles back to the truck.

...And Rafi Palmiero to wave his finger at the Game Warden to say, I never, ever pulled the trigger after legal shooting light...

Hello BIG BULL! That's awesome, truly a monarch of the mountain, I hope he got some of his gene pool spread out! Way to go man, what an awesome trophy!

awemome bull! best one this year! more character than any bull by far this season. hats off to you. Who helped you pack out that monster?

Here is the crew that helped with my hunt.

L To R Russ Collard, Rux Rowland, Gordon Smith, Preston Edwards, Kyle Walker & Me, also not in the picture my Dad Blaine, Mom Jeanne, my sister Kristen and friend Eric who ended up taking a 350 bull on this hunt helped with the work.

Sorry to dissapoint you all no major leauge ballers, just a bunch of hard core hunters that worked there a**es of to help out a friend.

Thanks too all it was fun, and one to remember.

Kody,

Congrats again on an amazing bull. I love the field shots! As good as he looks in the pics, I think he's more impressive in person. You put in a lot of time and effort and I'm happy it paid off for you.

Looks like I may have to give November elk a try! I'm sick of putting in for elk!!!:)
