Bull Down

I finally got to hunt. I drew a Colorado blackpowder bull tag, work got too busy and I had to give it back. I drew a blackpowder Antelope Buck tag and the work situation got real bad so I gave it back.

So, I ended up with a leftover either sex tag for 4th season. I left the garage on my 4 wheeler at 0430 this morning (Yes Bess, I stayed on the trail) and gained 3000 vertical in 11 bumpy miles. Walked about 1.5 miles and glassed a bull up in the oakbrush about 1000 yards away. I was able to sneak to 400 yards but it was too far for me. I decided to be bold and cross the thick oakbrush and hope he was deaf, it was my only option. For some reason the bull started walking my direction and I popped him at 307 yards. He was a 5 x 6 bull, not huge antlers but very satisfying. When I get my film developed I'll post up.

Tomorrow I'm packing meat.
