colorado unit 22

Has anyone hunted unit 22 in Co this fall? Any sucess for elk? And any info on the extent of drill rigs going in?

They are drilling the crap out of 22. I was up there during 1st rifle for Elk and was amazed at the amount of drilling going on.

I hunted it third season. Was shocked at the amout of drilling. What ares did you hunt there? Did you see any elk? If yes where?

We saw a small herd down yellow creek area, no bulls though.

Starman,

Those Turkey's are drilling all over western Colorado. Building lots of new roads and bringing lots of new Meth heads into town. I don't think it's worth it.

Where are you from? Is the drilling going to rival the late 70's? Where should we look for elk in that part of the counmtry. Should we just apply for somewhere else?

Starman,

The drilling has already surpassed the 70's and is increasing exponentially. There are up to 500 permits for drilling going to be auctioned, in January, within a 20 mile radius of my house in Palisade, CO. The Bistards are even attempting to push aside the town of Palisade and drill in our drinking water watershed. The watershed is only about 20 square miles and can't possibly put out enough gas to make it worth it. I don't know where to tell you to go.
