I have a cow tag for unit 075. anyone out there have ant suggestions for where to go?

That is a tough tag! My wife had a bull tag there last year and it is a tough draw as there is a tremendous amount of private ground in the area that you cannot hunt. Try the Loomis Mountain/Loomis Pasture area -- very early in the morning. In addition, you may see a small herd in the Summer Camp area (that is where my wife tagged out last year). It is relatively close the highway which separates it from 077. Alot of Elk have been pushed out of 077. You may also want to stop at the ranch below Antelope peak and ask them for permission to hunt their property. One last tip, if you go in on Tabor creek side, you will usually see some Elk in the upper elevations. Just keep turning South when you hit a private fence boundary. AND -- get up early, you will be surprised at how early these Elk bed down this late in the year. Good Luck -- you've drawn a tough tag!

You may also want to call Carrie Martin -- she is the biologist for that area.

Thank you for the info. I went this past weekend. I spoke with Carrie Martin and she suggested that I try oneal basin road at cold springs mountian. I saw alot of elk 60-80? But they were migrating and moving fast. I was only able to get close to one cow and she had a small calf with her. I may go again over the new years weekend. the snow may help some. I was thinking bishop flats or Loomis. Where is summer camp? who owns the ranch below ant peak? Any new suggestions now that there is more snow? Thanks you, Star
