I've got a question for you salty elk hunters from Utah. As a Utah non-resident, the odds are overwhelming that someone (even with several bonus points) will draw a limited entry bull elk tag/license. However, there are some opportunities with better odds (slim) to draw a limited entry bull tag in the late hunt dates.
My question is, Are the late limited entry elk hunts any good since they are from November 11-17? I know the quality of bulls in these units are excellent, just wondering how hard it is to hunt them.... Got any recommendations on any of the better elk units. I know just by looking at the numbers of applicants from last year which units are the most popular (for good reason). I don't want anyone's favorite honey hole just some knowledgable and honest conversation/information. It may be a long, long time before I'll ever draw a tag there anyway....
Oh, and, no smart a?? comments, please.....
