Bulls...Bucks...Rams...

didn't take very long for someone to figure these were taken from the air, Shawn hit it right on the head, all these pictures were taken during an aerial survey, seen a lot of nice bulls, bucks, and them two rams, try to post more photos later.

Great pics Danny.

Must have been a blast to be up looking over some of the best elk in the state. Thanks for the pics.

Just curious about your camera settings to get the fast action....shutter speed, exposure etc...

yea all these pictures were taken on the San Carlos Apache Rez in AZ, being in the helicopter for 7hrs a day twisting and turning and circling sure can do some damage to the body haha, about the camera settings, to be honest i have no idea, i don't have much experience in the camera dept as far as all the fancy talk goes, i borrowed the camera from my uncle and he showed me how to use it and had already put the settings to the specifics for me ahead of time and actually i only took pictures using the "sitting individual" setting instead of the moving objects setting, the only reason the pictures came out so nice was because the file size was so huge and i just cropped out the animals so they came out really nice, but anyway here's a few more pictures, and some the same to see what i cropped out.

Wow, great job on cropping the pics. Even enlarged, they show pretty well.

Question. Could you significantly notice the speed difference in the running animals? Like between the elk herd and the antelope?

Those are all great pics ! Hunting there would be a dream....Thanks for posting...NMHUNTNUTT

yup, no doubt there was a big difference in speed with all the critters, the pic with all the cow elk making dust looked just like that, tons of dust but hardly any movement or speed, when we flew the open flats we were cruising pretty fast and the antelope were easily breaking 50mph i'd say, because i think in the helicopter we were going pretty fast, something like 60mph, and then even the sheep were covering ground really fast in the rocks, no problem for them there, most of the bull elk we seen just looked at us as we circled and then camly walked off into the thick stuff.

Nice Pics... I will be there in April again to chase turkeys. Dan, you might remember that I contacted you last year about info for turkey. Have you heard anything about how the turkey numbers are this year? Thanks for the pics

Really nice pictures. Any idea how big the rams are? I've been told there are some 180 rams on the San Carlos but the pictures I've seen in their office aren't 180 and all though they are really good rams in your pictures, they seem less than 180. Just wondering and thanks for posting the great pic's.
