OFC Outfitters Unit 44 Colorado

Anyone ever been hunting with these guys? Looking at a pack in bowhunt for elk (unguided).

How good is Unit 44 anyway?

Don't know the outfitters. It is OTC for elk so probably only ok, great deer unit though. I assume you mean packed in to the wilderness. The rest of the unit gets hit pretty hard. If you have any deer points, you should check into whether you could draw a deer tag.

Last year they have numbers, 2500 elk hunters had 18% success. Archery had 370 hunters with 15% success.

What size bull are you looking for? There aren't many elk in 44 to begin with and being an over the counter elk tag you will be lucky to find a raghorn. There isn't a whole lot of wilderness in 44. I can think of a bunch of better units for elk in Colo!

Unit 44 has historically been very good for mule deer. Do not know about elk.
