Tired of chasing Colorado's top units

Can anybody give me some advice on a decent Elk unit for either archery of muzzleloader in Colorado that I can draw with 9 non-resident Elk points? I am tired of chasing Colorado's top units that I will never draw. I do not want to continue sending them $ every year and would really like to burn my points this year on an elk hunt that I could possible have a chance at a bull in the 320 to 340 range. I am thinking about unit 76 but not sure if I can draw it with 9 points for muzzleloader or not. I have hunted unit 521, 33,23-24 and 62 in the past with moderate success.

Join the club. I'm in the same boat as you. I have ten and am looking for rifle or muzzleloader. I bet you could find an archery unit? Unit 40? I think a lot of people in the 9-12 point range may try to find a hunt.

Research.
Look at the LE units, pick the ones with high bull/cow ratios. Then look at points needed to draw the type of tag you want. Also think about the tyupe of country you prefer to hunt. You will probably want to look for a unit with lots of public land and a good portion of that with few roads. I think you have a good plan for a hunt with primitive weapon early during the rut.

any unit is a good unit to hunt in just because there are top units soesnt mean that the other units wont produce a big buck or bull
