NM app deadline extended till Thursday.

WOW , Spoke too soon. Just makes the wait a little longer , then what , friday do we listen to all the people complain about not getting through on thursday night ???

I am sorry, but that is unfair to the applicants that got their apps in on time. If hunting in NM is that important then guys should have made the effort to get apps in on time. Why would you wait until the last day when the proclamations have been out for several weeks. Just another way to gather up some more $6 fees and punish the guys that got them in on time.

Thats pure bull.....

These goofballs know the deadline and if they miss it tough luck...

Why the rest of us should get this type of 'penalty' is really unfair...

i agree with both of you...this extension just slimmed down my chances more...i am going to call the director and give him my two cents...man i'm pissed

here is the letter i sent to the Game and Fish

Mr. Thompson,

I am writing this letter to express my frustration and anger at the Dept. of Game and Fish to extend the dates for permits of elk and deer. I believe this is wrong and unjust to those of us that made the deadline in time. The New Mexico people and others had four months to apply for their hunts. The people who put in early should not have their chances made harder by you extending the date for more money. You posted the dates on the internet, the pamphlet and other means to let everyone know the date; I hope this never happens again. Are you going to extend the date after everyone waits until Thursday night and your computers can't handle the load again??? This is a classic example of the good and prepared people paying the price for those who are not!

I like the letter , I called this morning and left a message too , and in ending I asked him if the deadline was more of a suggestion rather than an actual deadline....BS

well I recieved a letter back from Mr. Thompson- I don't know if i can post it but i wrote him back again

Mr. Thompson,
First of all thank you for your quick response, it is nice to know you are taking care of peoples needs and concerns and going the extra mile. You could have easily blown me off.

I still disagree with the decision of extending the dates. If you would have stayed with your first deadline it would have taught people not to wait for the last minute to apply. As in all things in life it does not pay to wait for the last minute. If you would have stayed with your first deadline, it would have set a good example and next year you might not have had the same problem, now we know that if you have this problem you will always extend the date. Also if the Dept. of Game and Fish cannot handle this work load then maybe you should consider not taking online applications. It does no good to anyone to advertise a service and not have the service perform up to par.

Again thank you for your time

...well good luck to all this year and there is nothing we can do but grin and shrug it off
