Anyone else haveing a tough time with the major let down of not drawing a tag here in Utah? I'm haveing a tough time finding energy to get things going this morning, I can't help but think that I will never get a tag, and if I finaly do, how old and decripped will I be? It's just a sad day all the way around!!! I can't believe all the anticipation is over and to no avail!! And I'm going to be in the same boat next year? I must be crazy to do this to myself year after year!!
Sorry for the wining!! This just plain sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

liv4hunt,
Nope, I still have the Montana and New Mexico draws to torrment me for the next month and a half. LOL I think most people that have gotten serious about playing the drawing game have gotten discouraged and disappointed about not drawing a special tag. The best thing to do would be to start thinking about the hunting you will be doing this year and plan ahead for it. General season hunts can be very rewarding. If you wanted a draw to look forward to again and can afford it, apply in Idaho. They seem to have decent odds for Non-residents. Just some ideas with my 2 cents thrown in.

ismith,I have given Idaho a ton of thought, my problem is finding a good starting point. I've pulled down the odds and harvest reports for all the controled hunts, but I'm still stuck with no real plan. Any suggestions?

I feel you pain.

LE Elk = unsuccessful
General Deer = unsuccessful
OIL Moose = unsuccessful

This will be the first year of my entire life that I will not have a general season deer tag...that may be more depressing than anything else to me. I knew once the DWR cut the Wasatch Late tags back that my 11 points woudn't be enough to get it done for me, so I wasn't too let down by that one. Maybe better luck next year.

I guess I can hold on to the thin chance that I may draw a Wyoming deer tag this year but I'm not too optimistic there either.

Just put your money in the tip jar.

I know how you feel. However I was successful! Yeeehaaaw! I got the same e-mail as you all but mine said - Successful: BONUS POINT EARNED!!!!! I just save myself the invevitable rejection and get bonus points for now. When I have over ten then I will be mad if I don't draw.

Utah just flat sucks. I hate this friggin state. I have a disease that is rapidly taking my heath away. I'll probably never get to hunt here again. I wish I new the crooked SOB that runs the draw and how much you have to pay him to get a tag.
