I was just wondering if any of you have used a decoy for elk? I have seen them in stores and catalogs, but don't know of anyone that has used one. Seems like it might work; it works on cyotes. What do you think??

THE SEARCH ENGINE HERE IS CRAP.
go back to may 8/05 back around 47 or 48 in the files,
also about 2 years ago.
There is quite a lot of talk about use of decoys.
"INSTANT ELK" Don't go into the field with out them.

Elkmaster,
Thanks, finaly found it. I have been thinking about getting one and then some guys at work ask me about them. Didn't know what to tell them but I knew someone on here would have something to say. Guess now I have to come up with some $$$. Thanks again.

LAST EDITED ON May-14-06 AT 06:01PM (MST)[p]I think I was one of the guys last year that posted info on elk decoys. I bought one and used it during the archery hunt. When it worked, it worked good. The bulls still kept thier distance for the most part and circled downwind, but it held their attention so I could move around a little more.

Good luck.

AZG&F is the downfall of hunting in Arizona!!!!!

I bought Rizzo decoy's and my hunting partner bought the Montana decoy, no comparison, the Montana decoy is slick light and easy to use (BE SURE TO CAMO PAINT THE SUPPORT BRACKET FOR SOME STUPID REASON ITS SHINY AND LOOKS LIKE AN ANCLE BRACELET) the Rizzo decoy is a joke , noisy /clumsy /too many little plastic part's and nothing to carry it in.It's impossible to carry it into the woods in thick brush without making a racket. I even cut it in half and made 2 smaller decoys and it was just as bad, oh well next year a Montana decoy.
