When you go to the stats page go to: 2006 Hunt recap Summaries.... The next thing is what is your hunt code?
IN your case it is EF07102R
yes the pdf file is huge so go to page 170 and you will see three hunt codes listed
this is called a float group or in other words there is a total of 510 licenses (90 set aside for youth) for all three hunt codes listed 2nd, 3rd and 4th rifle seasons.
Or in other words each letter and number indicates a abbreviation for the the species, sex, unit, and season(method)
OR in your case::
E...Elk
F...Female
071...Unit 71
02R... 2nd rifle season
another example
DE10201A
D... Deer
E...either sex
102...unit 102
01A... 1st archery
I did not get drawn (deer or elk!) so I checked a box on my application that sent me a leftover license list last month and another application or chance at tags before the August tag sale. My list shows no cow tags for 71. there is some either sex tags for unit 71 PLO (private land only) or the hunt code is EE070P1R (Elk, Either sex, unit 70+, Private, 1st rifle)
This tag you can hunt several units 70,71,72 and at least one more. My list shows 32 tags but when you get a hold of a updated list there will be less than that.
Its all foreign for folks looking at hunt codes, etc for the 1st time but if you take a second it explains it.
Hope it helps.
