Winterhawk plug

I went on a muzzleload hunt with Winterhawk outfitters this year. This is not a plug for them but I cannot see going anywhere else even though I did not get anything. The weather was way to hot this year. They wer just starting to bugle when I left and the weather was finally starting to turn. There were a few taken though. The whole group waited on you hand and foot.

I spent some time on the phone with them early this year when I was looking for an outfitter, sent me a dvd of their operation, etc. Nice video, seemed like good people. Aren't they located on the southeast side of the Flattops Wilderness?

They are about 30 miles off of I-70.Very easy to find. The 5 mile base camp road does take exactly 1 hour to travel. You ARE NOT going to do it any faster. If you have a problem with them --YOU are the problem.I do not think you could find a better bunch of guys.Just FYI I live in upstate NY and it was a 2000 mile drive.Straight driving we did it in a bit over 32 hours.MY door to door cost-guided hunt, gas, tips, license was 5300.00.But it takes 3 years of points for me for that license. So now I will just start putting away $25-30/week for the next hunt.Ido not smoke or drink so That justifies my savings.
