Here is a buck my father in law shot in Utah many moons ago. It measures right at 29.5 inches, with a broken cheater on each side. If the cheaters were in tact, it would be around the 32-33" mark. It is a 6x5, not including browtines. I have yet to put the tape to it(other than the width measurement). What do you think it might score?

LAST EDITED ON Jan-26-04 AT 00:54AM (MST)[p]That's a great buck, tell your father-in-law congrats. I think he'll score just over 190 gross and net around 182. The Division can hook you up with an offical scorer, I'll bet he'll quailify for an award from Boone and Crockett.

That's a real solid buck. I'd say he'll gross in the upper 180's and net right at 180.

Great buck, your father in law must be proud. I am not sure but he looks pretty wide to me.

I think I will look into having him scored by an official BC scorer. Does anyone know where to start to find one???

Nice Buck! I think you can find scorer's on B&C's website if you can't send me a private message cause I have a friend up in Payson that would probably be able to come down and score it for you.

Thanks for the info Jake. I'll let you know. I am actually considering having it mounted for him as a suprise fathers day/birthday gift. I just need to talk my wifes siblings into donating to the cause.

Thanks OSOK. He definitely deserves it. He's one of those guys that would give you his last cent if you needed it, even if it meant he would go without. He has sacrificed time and time again for his kids, and for this reason, has never had any of his trophies mounted, except for his one and only antelope. I know he would love to have this buck and one other mounted, but each time he gets around to having it done, one of his kids needs some help and he sacrifices his wants for their needs.

Hopefully they all will be receptive to my idea and will chip in. I just worry about not being able to find a cape to have it done by mid april......

IT is a really nice buck. I think it will score around 190,180 around there. If you wont some one to score it my husband can score it he is a all time boone & crockett holder. I think it is a boone&crockett buck.

Thanks for the info. I am going to make some calls in the morning and try to find an official scorer here in SLC. I also need to try and get a hold of some taxidermists to see if someoen can get a hold of a cape for me....
