I would like to know where any of you might spend 7 MD Preference Points in Colorado? One other thing that would influence my decision would be that I'm a nonresident therefore the Ranching for Wildlife ranches would not be available.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

7 points.....eh ?

If I were you I would apply for a GMU 9 tag with all those points.

In fact here's the hunt code I would try to get.

"D-F-009-L1-R"

Its during the Rut too !!!!!!

Good Luck !!!

Tough it out for a few more years and go for unit 10. Do a search on this site and you'll see what others have said in previous posts about quality units. And since many think every unit in the State is top secret, phone the DOW and ask to speak with with some of their big game/deer biologists. They are usually more than willing to share such top secret info. You can also get on the DOW web site and see the draw stats and harvest numbers for each unit. If it takes a lot of points to draw an area and the harvest stats are high, yer probably looking at a quality hunt. From there you need to look at a land status map for public access and speak with the warden(s) who handles that area about what your likely to see if you draw a tag. A little research will save you a lot of snickers and smart-arse answers on these web sites...

Dave,

You might want to look at one of the early-season high country hunts to match your hunting/backpacking style.

I'll drop you an e-mail,

Nino
