A friend emailed these pics to me. I hope the photogropher doesn't mind that I took the liberty to post them here. This is a buck that winters in our area here. I posted a photo of him last year that I took. I think that this is the 6th winter I have seen this buck. At least the 6th since he was noticable. I have video or photos of him from every year.

I really like the 3rd pic.

It was estimated last year judging from his sheds that he was pushing 38" wide I believe.

Thanks for the pics, Lowedog. That really is a wide buck. What state is he from? Just curious about that gene pool. We just don't have that type of wide deer around here.

thanks for the pic. nice buck. do you think he is reaching full maturity? after obviously being able to identify him for 6 yrs.he must be 8-9 years old. i could be way off though.
thanks,
nk

Mark, good pictures. this buck is awesome. i have video of him from the past 2 years also. last year he was around the 33-34 inch mark. 2 guys have his sheds and i think are going to go in on a mount together. dont know exactly how wide he is this year.

Lowdog,
Definately wide ain't he? He's a great buck for sure!!! Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

I don't know what is up with the pics! I usually don't have trouble with posting pics from Imagestation. Maybe they are having problems right now.

Garrett,

Are you referring to this years sheds that 2 guys have? Last years are on a mount at Hooked on Toys. I was told by the taxidermist that going by last years sheds and from photos they thought he was that pushing 38" last year. Could have been a little exagerating going on there. Non the less he is the widest buck I have seen alive in person. I never actually saw him this year. These are the only pics I have seen from this year.

Mark,

Ya i was talking about this years sheds. he dropped them really early. I am going to have to check that mount out at hooked on. i saw him once this year. he is definitly wider. ya they said he went that much after he was mounted. they say the taxidermist kinda laid them out a bit. But again, i am having this told to me by another taxidermist. He is definitly wide and awesome no matter what.

Can you email me one of those pictures to have so i can send to me dad???

thanks Mark

Mark, i just saw the top picture. good pic, he is definitly bigger than last year. he is definitly 36 maybe more. definitly the widest buck i have seen in person.

Garrett

I had heard that he dropped early this year. That's probably a good thing so he could get some peace. Those guys hound that buck as soon as he shows up on the winter range right up untill he drops them. I have seen this buck cary his antlers untill early March a few years ago. I wonder what makes them drop at differant times of the year?

I also heard he has a bad limp right about the time he shed out.

This year this buck came up lame after disapperaing for a few days. He was limping around. I've noticed other bucks that were limping and injured that also shed really early. Must be a connection.

Hey, a good friend of the family has a brother who picked up this years sheds. Him and a friend were watching this buck, (Known as the BroadView Buck) and they saw him drop both sheds at the same time. They ran down and picked them up. Going to have them mounted but are argueing about whose house he goes in! I've really wanted to go see the sheds but haven't yet. I've also heard he was way bigger this year than last.
