Montana Decoys

I recently have seen some video and talked with a few well known bowhunters and wanted to pose this question to the forum. I am seriously thinking of purchasing a Montana Decoy (Elk) for this years hunt.

First, Do any of you use these?...Second, How much do you think they helped in your setup when animals came in?...and Third, those of you who have used them, which of the three elk positions do you own?(Frontal, Broadside or The "Moon")

I have the broadside and love this decoy. It helped me harvest my last elk as well as a couple of buddy's.The bull I shot came right up to it and never looked my way or hesitated once.My brother set up a little to the side and behind the target and brought two more in that held up for a few then came right in.I know for sure I made a good buy ansd you will also.

I really like the Montana decoys. I have the frontal, and the cow butt. A couple years ago, my son drew an early muzzleloader bull tag in Arizona. While on that hunt, we were trailing a big herd that had four or five mature bulls. I was walking along in front of my son and got busted by a cow at about 50 yards. I had the decoy in my hand, opened but down by my side. I held the decoy up in front of me and shook it a bit, and the cow went right back to feeding, even though she could clearly see both of us. While I don't recommend doing this on purpose, it sure helped us in this instance. I've used them on other occasions when they've helped also, and consider them an integral part of my archery elk hunting gear these days.
