how would they know how big the buck was unless they caught 'em......?.......

I think they found the deer where it was shot....thats called poaching????

the way I read it was these deer were "popular" in the area, on the wintering grounds, and many people had been watching them, then they were found with their heads cut off!

I live in Grant County, next to Baker and have talked to several people about this story and from what I have learned, it was a huge buck, the biggest seen in Baker County in a long time. It is a shame when this happens to any animal, let alone one that has been so appreciated by an entire community. It kind of reminds me of the whole Samson story from Wyoming a few years back.

Two of the bucks they shot were just small 4x4's 24 inch types. I live in Baker and do a lot of chukar hunting in the area that the big boy was shot in. We got a look at him one day and yes he was a giant. One of the guys we hunt with though he was a bull elk. We don't get a lot of giant bucks around Baker so it's a real shame that a hunter didn't get a chance at him. The buck was poached in January so I don't think they will ever catch him. Like most states we don't have enough monster bucks anyway without some lame-ass poaching them. I sure hope they can find the guy.
