4B Elk

Does anyone have an successful elk photos from 4B? What about any photos of the country? I wont be able to get down there to scout until August.

Which tag do you have? I don't personally know the area but have a friend that has a cabin in Forest Lakes and has said it isn't as good as some of the units right around it. Definately want to get up there and scout it out. A lot of the elk will be in pockets so if you can find them you might be ok. Don't get me wrong it is still good just not what it was several years ago. Good luck, I am hoping to help another friend with the early archery bull tag.

I have the archery tag as well. I was happy to hear that the archery deer hunt didn't overlap the archery elk hunt.

Beaner,I like the pic of your bull also. Did you drop out of a tree and break his back? Ha Ha. I drew 4b about 13 years ago. It was full of bulls back then and about the easiest hunt I have ever been in to get around. sounds like a great time. good luck. As always the pines hold a larger concentration of bulls but also gets a large concentration of the hunters. We shot a 300 bull and a 340 bull.

Here is a pic of my archery bull from across street in 4A. Shot this bull in 2004 at 27 yards...I was lucky enough to draw another archery bull tag in 4A this year....Pray for rain!!

Hey dbllung, are those both Coues bucks in the second picture of your elk? If so, that one on the right is pretty impressive!

Yup..Those are Coues deer....The one on the right my brother killed here in Arizona in unit 33..Scored about 101...Small eyeguards and no mass killed the score..Had a great frame though! Still an awesome buck!

Did you draw 4A this year?? I remember Hurricane Javier...It poured for two and a half straight days..

Yup, I lucked out and drew another bull tag! Going to start scouting hard very soon.
