I've always wanted the book, but for some reason have never purchased it. However, last night at a bookstore I couldn't resist. They had Brand New copies of it for $8.00! Its a cool book. I have already looked at all the photos, now I am pumped to read all of Geist's words.

By the way, all the photos are from one guy, Michael Francis, from Montana. This dude has seen some mulies!

That is a great book, I think it's especially interesting to learn that Mule Deer are the result of an ancient fusion of the Whitetail and Blacktail. Along with the genetic evidence presented in the book, it just makes sense; since the mule deer are geographically stuck in the middle. Enjoy.

i have the book, but my copy cost 40$

check out my post "mule deer genetics" in the general forum, i got the info from there.

This is one of the best mule deer books I've read. I still reread sections from time to time. I bought mine during a trip to Gunnison at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument.

This site is a bad influence on me every time some one like's something I gotta go out and buy one for myself.....LOL......

By far, the most informative book on Mule Deer I have ever read. The photography is also amazing. I think mine was around $20.00 on Amazon.com.

I picked up a used copy on ebay for less than $10. I have only thumbed through it so far. Now I guess I better get off the computer and do a little reading.

got the book today, have to say I'm not that impressed, it seems a little Hmmmm whats the word here' amaturish..?..sorry...

"amaturish"?? How so?

I have read about half so far and find it very informative and entertaining and I think the photography is second to very little. There aren't MONSTER bucks gracing every page, but some nice bucks and some great reading.
