Wy Special vs Regular?

Hope you all made the deadline.

Just curious how you guys put in this year?

I put in special for deer and antelope this year, just hoping like many of you that it would make the difference.

However, I don't think it's going to help much on places such as G, or 128/129.

In the past I've always put in regular.

How about you?

I also put in for G special for the first time. I usually put in for the regular. I'm guessing that the draw odds for regular this year will decrease to around 18%. I'm hoping that the odds for special will increase to around 50% or higher because of the price increase and increased allocation of tags. Hopefully everyone else didn't figure the same thing and put in for the special. I guess we'll find out here in a few months.

Good luck to you guys,

Deer Special. Hope the extra money helps. A bit painful now but that should ease if I draw the tag.

I put in for Region D regular and also antelope regular. It's going to be a long wait till July. I'm all for supporting the states and their game and fish departments but at what point does hunting stop being hunting and become a rich man's game? I don't want to start a debate. I just hate to see the sport of hunting come down to selling out to the highest bidder. I hope this is the year I meet up with Mr. Big.

Deer-Regular for Region J. I drew here last year with the Special fee and am gambling a little on the regular this year. Time will tell if it is money saved or time lost!

No Wyoming this year.
(AREA 102 TYPE 1 SPECIAL! I HIT 4 OUT 5 never put in a regular)
I wonder if a bonus point system will kill the "special program"?
I'm going to hit the lotto again in Utah
premium limited entry anyway this year!
LOL!! JACK

Reg fee on both afterall..........everyone is doing pricey, just like on the elk so I'm playing the switch odds for a change!! I have a great chance at drawing my 2nd choice on deer.......

The kicker this year was the jump from 20% to 40% special allocation. I think that will definitly improve odds in the special pool, as I doubt that pool size doubles. Still, I could not gag down a $500 deer tag and went for regular. Plus you are right, doing special locks you into a first choice only application, as you would feel bad spending the extra $200 if you did not have too.

Region F regular. Have drew the last 2 years. If not lucky I guess I will have to settle on Iowa for Pheasant hunting.

Deer-regular (22).......Antelope-regular (28).

Hunted the Big Horns two years ago, figured hunt the open country this year.

i wouldn't worry to much about drawing j, and paying the extra last year was probably not neccesary. j has been undersubscribed alot lately because of CWD panic, which is too bad, there some good hunting in various parts of J, and there are some brutes around.

I put up the $470.00 for a special deer. After talking to a bunch of people, many seem to think the same as I, that not many people will fork over $470.00 for a deer tag. Many of them also did the special, so who knows?????
It'll be interesting.

Sure wish they'd draw the tags in April though. Waiting until early July makes no sense and limits scouting time.
