Is it true that mule deer do not eat grass? Or that if they eat it they will die? How about elk? fatrooster.

That would be not true.

Not true, mule deer graze on grass, mostly during the spring time of the year when green grasses start to grow, also they just browse more than they graze, and opposite for elk they graze more than they browse, but during the winter time elk will browse quite frequently.

Browse is eating oak leaves or small quakes or sage brush.. graze idswhen the feed on grass... deer will graze alot in the spring and eary summer and then when late summer and early fall begins they start to feed on the browse...

All deer, including whitetail, eat some grass. However, whitetail will starve on a diet of only grass for long periods. Is that not the case with mule deer? I have never heard for sure with them.

They can and do eat some grass. The problem occurs if they change from brush to grass or alfalfa to fast. They need time to get the right bacteria going for digestion.

Todd, quit asking rhetorical, sarcastic questions to guys that don't know you're doin it. For those of you who dropped out of high school early to become governor's tag guides, look it up.
I spelled it right.
