lookin for a place to start

well i am back fellow mm ers its been a while.

I need some help with a place to start for a big bull elk i am goin archery again this year and I have 10 days to hunt I am not looking to break any records but it would be nice i am just looking for a bull that will make the 300-340 mark any tips or info would be appreciated.

Idaho. Hunt one of the units thats draw for rifle or really remote. Not the only option but since all of the draws are in, you are limited to OTC. Thats the one I'll use if I'm unsuccessful in the draws.

You have until June 5th this year to apply for controlled hunts. There are many OTC oppurtunities, but your expectations for an OTC need to be 260-300 class bull. Idaho has lots of Elk just not a lot of big ones in OTC areas. You never know though I know a few people that have scored 350 plus bulls in OTC units so there is always that chance. Are you limiting yourself to Utah???? I only rx'd Idaho cause they allow archery in almost all of their draw units. Oregon too but I've avoided Oregon cause everyone I know thats done Ore archery has complained about the crowds. Good luck.
