Curious now that all of the draws are in, whats the tag you hope to draw the most? The next 4 weeks will be real exciting with Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, New Mexico, and Kali all drawing.

The tag I want the most is the late youth mule deer hunt for my son in Oregon. For myself, there are 8 that if I draw any, my season will be a success. Anything in Nevada or Colorado Unit #61 1st elk or 3rd deer. GOOD LUCK ALL!!!

I am fairly content with what I have in my pocket already for tags but I would really enjoy doing a back to back in Nv. on my bow buck tag. I had a ball last year but got a little to picky...

Ad to your list Wyo deer and antelope and the Mont OIL species!

I'd drop if I drew a Mont. Ram tag!

LAST EDITED ON May-21-07 AT 07:18AM (MST)[p]Having had the usual rejection notices from Az,Wy & Ut, a glimmer of hope remains...

#1 Montana bighorn sheep
#2 New Mexico bighorn sheep
#3 California desert sheep
#4 Oregon sheep
#5 New Mexico archery elk
#6 Idaho elk
#7 Idaho muley
#8 New Mexico muley
#9 California elk
#10 Oregon muley
#11 California antelope

OTC blacktail tags here in Ca.

I suspect I'll be hunting muleys in Oregon this year with the family along with the usual bowhunts and backcountry blacktail hunts.
Got the wife & kid in for the above hunts also.
Very poor odds for most of the above, so I ain't real optimistic about gettin a tag.

Pleaz, I missed Mont but I was talking about the next 4 weeks so I left out Az-deer/antelope, Idaho-deer/elk/antelope, Wyoming-deer/antelope. Thats for the last chance, July draws.

Cali--I'm with ya.. it drags out so long every year!

I wonder if some feel we fit into the 'rich man' threads with all the applications we do and all the fees involved and then the cost after we seem to draw our fair share of tags-yearly-in multiple states!

I know 'HH' fits into that catagory! haha

I hope my ol man and I draw Nevada Mule deer, Oregon Elk. I hope I draw Or. Antelope or Sheep, Ca. Elk, Nv. Elk.

Good luck to everybody, I honestly hope you draw the hunt of your dreams cause life is truly short.

Pleaz. I'm not rich but like in the mule deer post about what it takes to kill trophys, priorities are a major part of it. I'm not hurting either but i have a friend that started applying for EVERY western state about 10 years ago. He had a credit card with a $2,500.00 max. He applied on-line for every state that had that option, cash advanced every state that wanted money and used his refunds to pay off the card every year. Originally he said it cost him about $500.00 to apply every year after it was all done. He's since had a Shiras hunt, quality AZ archery elk hunt, several good to great mule deer tags and is very dangerous in several states this year. That $500.00 has gone up but the principle is still the same. His plan paid off well and the same holds true these days but it just takes longer. I've been doing the same for about the same length of time but I get ansy at times and put in for lesser units occasionally just to be sure I get one tag.

Graysage, No tag. Held my dad and buddy back I think. They now have 14 points and 13 for me. Gonna try to convince them to apply without me next year. Dads getting up there and i could help him that way plus learn the unit.

After taking my 3rd 320"+ bull last year, and reaching my 350"+ goal, my elk aspirations have changed. Now I'd really like to draw New Mexico and help get my buddy his first bull. We put in for a 290"-320" backpack area and it would be nice to draw.

That sucks!

Been following to see what happens, as that's what we plan to do in a few years (currently have 9 pts). Can't make up my mind whether I want to go archery, or hunt rifle w/ the group. Regardless, I'll probably tag along w/ them on their rifle hunt and a couple of them would tag along on the archery. Decisions, decisions.

Still got a couple years to figure it out.
