Cow Elk

Utah cow tag $208.00 non-res.

How much in New Mexico for a cow tag?

Try Rob Snow on Ebay as he has a great rating and has tags for up in Chalk Creek/Coalville area.

Utah cow tag $213.00, and if I am not mistaken you must also buy a small game license this year. Another 65.00.

LAST EDITED ON May-22-07 AT 09:45AM (MST)[p]Cow elk draw applications in Utah start in a few days and must be completed over the internet. If you are an archer, you can buy an archery elk permit and hunt spikes or cows, the same time as the archery deer hunt. Colorado also has lots of cow tags over the counter ($254). I believe over there some units have a 2 cow limit.

Hunters, Is it easy to receive a cow elk tag or permit for Utah? I think Utah does not allow any over the counter sale of permits or tags. What is the procedure to purchasing a cow tag for either rifle season or for the muzzleloader season. Thanks.

tex270--correct-$213.00 sorry about the $5 mistake...

The $65.00 license doesn't go into effect until after July 1st-2007 so any tag applied for prior to July 1 '07 would not need the $65.00 license.

Your okay for the Antlerless application and for any OTC-general elk/leftover deer or until sold out Archery buck tag @ the current fee structure without the $65.00 license BEFORE July 1...

Go for it!

Cowtag,
You can check out the details from the DWR website. Go to the proclamations and look at the antlerless addendum.
I don't know how hard it is for an NR to get cow tags, but I imagine it is not too hard because most people who apply as residents get a tag.
The problem might be that most of the cow hunts are after the regular hunts are over---in Nov. and Dec.
Anyway, check out the website and you will get your answers.
Good Luck

I have drawn my 2nd choice 3 years in a row on a Utah cow tag.

It is not a private ground only unit but it is a unit that has all the FS roads closed and most years has deep snow.
