Hey guys,

I was thinking, we should do a MonsterMuleys.com video series. Anyone interested? Of course all the video would need to be good quality. The entire video would be footage by MM members.
We'll put each members name on their clip and have a little blurb about them.

Any thoughts?
Anyone have good video of big bucks?

PS - Maybe we could even get a clip of Buckspy fielding one of his favorite questions, "I have 10 points in Colorado and need to know where to go?"

Great idea Brian. I think it would be a lot of fun watching hunts of people from this site. Any chance of some elk hunts making it in there?

I have some huge white tails I have filmed over the years I would donate. But unfortunatly I have no mule deer footage YET.

"We must HUNT"

I have some footage of some nice muleys and some elk. I can film some of my shed hunts if you would like? I always like shed sections of videos! Just let me know how I can help!

Just slowly adding up some good footage each year. Maybe some day I will do something with it.
I actually enjoy sitting back and watching my own videos even though they may not be edited real well yet.

So do these guys get any compensation via video sales? Just wondering because I am sure it will be brought up eventually.
Best,
Jerry

Jerry,

Good question. I don't know.
What do you guys think?

I guess it would depend. It could get sticky trying to decide what each clip is worth, percentage wise. Heck, everyone is going to think there video is best.

I was actually thinking of doing something that would basically be free. Profit is good though, but maybe on seperate project.

Thoughts?

I would love to do a hunting footage of mule deer hunting for huge bucks up here in British Columbia.

Truth of the matter is, I can't even afford a video camera to take footage of hunting.......whether its for sheep, goats, or deer.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-01-04 AT 09:30PM (MST)[p]Sounds like a great idea.
I could make you some Washington Roosevelt and whitetail vids. My brother in-law is a videographer and I have friends who guide that video their elk hunts in limited draw areas.

I've got some footage of my dog stalking and pointing a butterfly (it was a HUGE butterfly). Let me know.

Rut

this shounds like a great idea to me, i have about 5 mins of a good bull playin in the water during the rut. also i could get some video of coues hunts this coming year, prolly nothing big but i can try. i think that the elk video is pretty unique and would fit in well.the bulls is about 50 yards away

I like the idea, too. I would need to know what the definition of "quality video" is, since I only have a cheap video camera. I've got some footage, but no harvest stuff. I can get some this fall if we decide to do this.

My recommendation would be to donate any profits/proceeds to the Mule Deer Foundation.

count me in also. i have some footages of the deer hunt from last year. and lots of mule deer in the rut from last year on my late cow elk hunt. also have good footage of a young calf elk who had lost his mom and the primos hyper lype single elk call bringing him right in.

Good idea ICMDEER - I definitely agree with donating any profits to the Mule Deer Foundation. It would go to a good cause, and avoid any issues or squabbling over paying out to those who contributed.

LETS GET THE BALL ROLLING WHO IS GOING TO EDIT THE DVD. I WOULD DONATE SOME OF MY FOOOTAGE SO THAT MULE DEER WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE DVD WE SHOULD MAKE IT AS PROFESSIONAL AS WE CAN AND I WOULD BET THAT THE MULE DEER FOUNDATION WOULD HELP OUT WITH THIS PROJECT LETS ASK THE FOUNDATION TO HIRE US A TOP NOTCH EDITER AND BLOW ANY VIDEO OUT THERE OUT OF THE WATER.THEY WOULD MAKE THE MONEY BACK AND THEN SOME.I HAVE A 190 CLASS BUCK DOING ITS THING WITH SEVERAL DOES PASSING THE GENES AROUND.SOME OF YOU MIGHT OF SEEN THE STILL PHOTO OF HIM ON THE WEBSITE.NOW THATS WHAT I CALL HELPING THE DEER OUT NOT THE HUNTER/GUIDE/EDITER FOR A CHANGE.WHO ON THIS SITE WOULD NOT BUY THE DVD? YOU NO AS WELL AS ANYONE MULE DEER COULD USE ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET.

Oh heck yeah, just gives me another reason to spend money on a new high quality video camera and head to the winter range!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-03-04 AT 04:33PM (MST)[p]I've got a bunch of footage of monster bucks that I shot with my old beatup video camera. Some of it is half decent but some of it would take some serious editing to deal with the shakeyness and such. I don't have too much for hunting footage, although I did do the "on the ground" interview with my Triple Dropper last Nov.
My old camera finally bit the dust a couple of weeks ago, so I'm in the market for a good camera. I think it would be a worthwhile purchase to spend my "Bear" money on from this spring's guiding. Wish I had a good camera prior to bear season cause I'd be able to get some awesome footage of us whackin' and stackin' some Slammer bears.
If this summer goes as planned I should have some decent footage of some more highcountry velvet. If the MonsterMuleys video thing gets off the ground I'd be willing to throw some my stuff in the mix. I would imagine it takes some serious overhead to do all the editing and production. Although, it's something I've never researched.
