I am looking to purchase some new binos for hunting big game in Utah. Looking to spent around $100-150.00 range. What is the best buy in this range. I know most of you are in to the higher end stuff, but I just can't spend that much. I would be grateful for any help.

Hi, I have a some Bushnell trophy 10x42. They work ok for the money about $150. If you want stop by and try them out. Littlebuck

For under $150, look at the Nikon "Action" seires. Porro prism design (off set) but your not going to get decent Roof prism (streight) for less then $225
I think you can get a pair of 8X40 or 10X50 for about $100
Very good optics for that price.

I suggest looking into Alpen optics. I just purchased the 10x42 for my brother and I was very impressed. They are very clear and all of the lenses are coated for a bright image. And to top it off they have a lifetime warranty. I paid $96 for the pair! You CAN NOT beat the price for optics this good. I have a pair of Zeiss but, I wish I new about Alpen before I got them.

In that price range I'd look at the Nikons. I'm sure some of the others mentioned are worth looking at also

Hey little buck, which model did you go with and where did you purchase them at?

Check out the Brunton Lite-Tech's (10x42)at the Cabelas web site. I bought a pair a few months ago and I like them. They were on sale for 99.00 + shipping.

I bought a pair of Pentax 12x50's for 145$ last year, great optics and light generation in low light conditions. they have a tripod adapter mount and good eye relief. I would recommend them to anyone with a tight budget.LC

I purchsed a Alpen Apex this winter and love them but they run around 400-550, but I know they have some ceeper stuff as well that are very good optics.

One of my buddys just bought a $1500.00 pair of swaroskis (sp) and my Alpen's are just as clear for over a $1000.00 ceaper. Just some food for thought.
