i personally have never hunted the shirleys, however, i worked for the blm and for two years my working buddy, who just happened to be my hunting buddy as well, built the buck and rail fence around the camp ground up there. anyhow, we did go scouting up there i couple of our days off as we anticapated hunting the area. we actually watched a couple deer that would have probably scored over 180+ b&c points. along with these two deer we also saw alot of smaller bucks that were not as big but we did not have a chance to spend much time scouting as we were suppose to be working, aaaahhhh the government dollars at work. there are also some caves up there above the campground that my buddies and i use to go exploring in, and one day while coming down from the mountain we jumped a deer that probably was a 170B&C buck.
