this bull scored out at round 370 and was going down hill it was 14 inches around at the base!

I don't mean any disrespect but I don't see 370 inches of antler there, or a 14 inch base. but it's still a nice bull

Ya I also agree I'd probably say that bull would score 315 to 320 tops he has good first, second, and thirds but he just doesn't have it up top to be a 370 class bull.

No dis here but it is a 270 class bull at best. I would have given my right nut to get my Dad on a bull like that before he died. Tell your dad great job. Ron

the bull doesnt look like 370 and the reason why is its broke which i forgot to mention the first and seconds are both over 22inches and the thirds are roughly 20 the fourths are 17 and 18 the fifths are about 7 if the one side wasnt broke and beams are 51 just so everyone knew

No need to embelish numbers to make friends on this website. Unfortunatly broken points don't count towards score, and as you can see everyone here agrees with me that your dads bull does not score what you say it does. Again I mean no disrespect but don't you think that instead of throwing out random numbers about what it scored you should just call it a nice bull which it is?

LAST EDITED ON Jun-22-07 AT 01:40AM (MST)[p]if those forths are 17 and 18, i gotta.. well never mind! nice bull.

Maybe take a picture from a different angle and it will show a better view of what this bull may really be all about. Take the rack outside and get a side view with the sky in the background this is always the way to get to see everything a little better.

This bull is more like a 370 bull, it actually nets 359 7/8.. grosses at 368.. no disrespect to your dads bull it a great bull, he beats me I have yet to kill one, I just don't see it having more antler than this on.

Who cares what it scores? Congrats on a nice bull for your dad. Hopefully the time spent hunting with your dad was fun, cuz that is what it is all about!

Ignore the negative comments and remember the good ones. That is what you have to do around here. I don't know why it's almost all negative around here or why people feel the need to call others out. It's a nice bull and the fact that you got to share it with your dad makes it GREAT!

I don't think utlimateshedfreak was trying to bring any glory to himself or win any big bull contests. He was just sharing a picture of a bull his dad killed. No harm in that. Some of you guy's need to get out in the hills and unwind a little. It's not a personal attack on you if someone throws a number out there that may not be exactly right.

Great Bull Ultimate!!!

Kicker

I agree with Kicker. beautiful bull, and I really like the way he is mounted. Very nice. congrats to your dad.

I agree with Kicker as well. Some of you guys need to release some pressure (some how). The guy was just sharing a pic of a bull that he and his dad had the oppertunity to take together, and you guys have to jump him about a score. Have any of you put a tape on that bull. I bet he has.

Regardless of the score it is an awsome bull and even more cool that you were able to share it with your dad. I wish I could get that oppertunity to share something like that with my dad.

Can't we just give him some congrats, and all get along.

Just my thought.

European mounts look so good. Thats a nice bull , congrats to your dad , I'd love to have one like that...

Very nice bull regardless of what he scores, the time spent with your family is the right score.

That is a great bull. You and your dad should be proud. As soon as I read the score you posted I knew these guys would be on you like a fat girl on a vinyl chair...

I can't see where that bull is broken, but any way thats a nice bull and that mount should always bring back memories of time spent in the field with family.

I hoped that this thread would die before somebody got their feelings hurt. Like I said before my dad would have loved a bull like that. I think it would have been better to not post a score. Ron

Great Bull and Congrats!

It looks like people around here need to take a lesson on angles and distance; meaning that when a tine is pointed straight at the camera, it is virtually impossible to judge the tine length. The back end of this bull is nearly impossible to judge, considering the angle of the shot. Not only is this a great bull but it's probably closer to 370 than everyone is giving credit for.

Congrats, don't let a few screwballs get in the way. Thanks for the pic.

Everyone and their "who cares what it scores" Appearently the guy who posted the picture cares about what it scores or he wouldn't have thrown out numbers to begin with. You guys can say what you want but my eyes are wide open on this one. That bull is nowhere even close to 370 inches!

Where do you guys come up with these scores :(

The bull on the wall has some of the longest 2nds and thirds I've ever seen. It's a beautiful bull.

The latest pic of the bull on the ground is a nice bull too. It doesn't have anywhere near the first three points of the one on the wall, but the back half may be better.

Cheers,
Pete

I can believe ultimateshedfreak on the mount. If you add up his numbers you easily get 370. No matter what you give the 5ths it will be over 350. It's ignorant of elk measuring to suggest that it could be in the 280's. LOL!

The second one looks a bit smaller to me in the 345 - 350 range. The front half looks to be in the 16 - 18" range. The mass is in the mid 20's range vs. the mount in the mid 30's per side. If he could confirm some numbers on those front's we could get a bit closer.

Cheers,
Pete

maybe he needs a tape that the first 12" is not broke off. I don't see the 370, Please add more pictures. I mean no disrespect. I would like to see where I am missing it. Ron

I thought I would show a few more pictures of my bull (the bull on the ground) to show how hard it is to judge at the angle previously given. My bull went 367 Gross. It obviously doesn't have the mass or length that the first bull posted does, and my bull has lots of mass.

You might have seen this next one in Hunting Fool Mag

This one shows some mass

Judging bulls is hard.
Here are a few measurements:

Left Right
16 3/8 15 6/8 G1
16 1/8 16 6/8 G2
14 5/8 16 1/8 G3

Mass went 56.75

I'm just saying that our guessing is way off somtimes. There is a lot of variables into score.

Thanks for the additional pics and numbers CouesFanatic! Like you said it's hard to judge animals from one picture. Sorry for not giving your bull the credit it was due :)

If that bull mount from ultimateshedfreak had a back half like you're bulls left side it would be pushing 400".

Great bulls for both of you regardless!

Cheers,
Pete
