Coyote VS badger

I was out looking for deer and elk this morning. I was glassing a big canyon. After a while i spotted a bager on a trail about 50 yards below me. I was watching the badger when a yote started yelping at it. I could not locate him, he was in tall grass and trees. The yote started jumping staright in the air trying to locate the badger which was about 30 yards from it. The badger got pissed and turned and went on the defensive side. I thought i was going to see wildlife UFC. I hurried back to my truck and got my rifle. As i was sitting back down the yote saw me. the dog thought i could not see him because of the tall grass, he was wrong, he is napping in the dirt now. Who would you have place your money on if a fight would of broke out. I personally thought the yote would run off first.

badger won't back down he just digs in and stands his ground...
yotes follow them to steal there meals often enough.. and some times a digging badger will have its lunch run out the back door to a wait doggie!!
I was chased about 4o yrs with my pants and belt undone while taken a pee..there was a hole(target) but it was not vacant during a scouting trip.. my friends laugh so hard when I launch into the back of the truck..yotes always will run instead of risk injury... bears even give up when an badger has his arse in a hole.

Quite a few years back we had a 125 lb german shephard on our ranch that was killed by a badger. He was one mean dog and I suspect that neither one of them would back down. I'd put my money on the badger every time over a 25 to 30 lb coyote.

The coyote's motto is "It is better to run away so you can run away another day". If push came to shove though, the badger would win.
