UT draw--Coincidence or not?

I'm venting...

As I was checking the UT draw resluts just for San Juan today and noticed that 6 guys who either drew San Juan deer or San Juan elk drew the oppisite this year? Is this just a conisidence? I just can't imagine this being the 'luck of the draw'.

I'm sure many of you know of similar stories--let's here them.

I grew up with someone that had a relative that worked in the division for several years, It seemed that about all the relatives had drew a buffalo tag. I can't get to specific due to there good friends. But if it happens it's a bunch of crap.
Did you get a tag? We went 0 for 2 this year.

I see Jackie Bushman II from Alabama got a muzzleloader Paunsagaunt tag. Maybe we can watch his hunt on Buckmasters?

at least 4 individuals who drew the Cache Moose tag have drawn elk tags within the last 2 years. I don't know, but coincidence?

I think I seen on another post that someone had gone 0 for 19 on LE ELK draws.

just spoke with a guy on the phone who told me his dad drew moose, elk, and antelope tag back to back to back

It kind of seems like once your in the system you draw about what ever you put in for.

I saw a video of the drawing and there was a second drawer over by the grassy knoll.

a few a years back we had some boys from the DFG, kept getting drawn for coveted muley tags and some one did alittle investagating and the rest was history...

check it out and see if they had connections....never know till you try....

This reminds me of a coincidence a few years ago.

As the results were posted, a FNAWS member said that not one member drew a sheep tag. He mentioned that he would look into that. The next year at least four "uppers" drew that I knew of. Also, they knew the results and had a list of successful applicants prior to the posting. Coincidence? Doesn't matter to me, but it did make me wonder.

littlebuck,

I got a bison tag this year and I can assure you I sure don't know anybody there. Just another nobody. :)

Saw Ryan Hatch got a Paunsagunt rifle tag. Anybody else find a recognizable name?

Zim from NW Indiana

I'm sure glad I'm not holding a Paunsaugunt tag this year. Since Jackie Bushman and Ryan Hatch have tags. LOL! That place will be a zoo with all the guides and people looking to make a quick buck. The chute planes will be flying!! LOL! It will be real hard for the average Joe this year on the Pauns. Instead of one guide on every ridge during the muzzleloader there might be 5 or 6. LOL! As far as certain people drawing constantly on hunts it sure makes you wonder. In my opinion, if you have enough money, power, or know somebody, let's just say an in, I think there are people that conduct these drawings that could be enticed with a few extra thousand. I think it happens more than people know. Another thing is I thought there was going to be more primitive weapon opportunities on our limited entry elk this year. Looks to me like it was the other way around on our Premo units! Should of put in for any weapon because I bet the odds were better looking at all the permits. (Southwest Desert, Monroe, Pahvant)

It would be interesting to compare the number of bonus points they used last year when they were drawn and how many bonus points they had for the draw this year for a different species and were drawn again. The first couple of years after Utah went to the draw system, you could apply for and earn a bonus point each year for a deer, an elk and a pronghorn. One bonus point for each species. I believe it was the third year when the State changed it to where you could apply for and earn a bonus point only for one species (D,E, or P), excluding the once in a lifetime permits. Maybe you can do the math and determine if something is fishy. Or it may be, these guys have all the good luck that most of us don't have!

IMHO...if some one is lucky enough to draw a pauns tag, then they shouldn't be allowed to apply for another tag for at least two or three years.......that would help US! less furtunate people...my dream area has such a low deer number this year they're only giving 5 tags out...lets see I couldn't draw when there were 25, whats my odds now with 5...LOL..

UNSUCCESSFUL for paunsy muzz with I believe 9 or 10 points. Hell, I offered several thousand to the game dept and it didn't do any good. So, you can throw any conspriacy thoughts out the barrel. If you guys are feeling sorry for yourself, consider this; I have applied for an prarie goat tag in Kalifornicated for 38 years and still have not struck gold. Chitty luck is better than no luck, I guess. Rick.

I think it is mostly luck. Take my family, My dad has drawn 1 elk tag and one antelope tag in 24 years of applying. My mother has drawn 5 antelope tags in 7 years of applying. My brother has drawn a Paunsaugunt deer tag and a pahvant elk tag in 4 years of applying. Now we get to me I had 1 antelope tag in 1985 which took me 4 years to draw. And I've been applying for elk ever since, 19 years and counting and I'm still waiting....
We do every thing the same but nothing works for me. My brother and mom have all the luck. I get nothing. It gets old and it's hard not to get depressed. But you got to play the game.
