Can anyone recommend to me some good mule deer outfitters in either utah, colorado, or nevada that have a good success rate(for rifle) going for them? Thanks alot! I plan on doing my first mule deer hunt for hopefully '04 or '05.

Colorado, Gordan Blay, if I remember right his website is blaywestadventures.com...he has an awesom buck in the book...

I would contact Aaron Neilson of Adventures Wild in Colorado, thsy kill some great bucks every year and his prices are very reasonable. If you are planning a few years out I would still contact him asap so you guys can talk about how many preference points you would need to draw.

Not saying that Blay isn't a good outfitter, but I am pretty sure that the great buck on his website is from about 15-18 years ago. If it is the "award winning" one, then it definately is the one from years ago. Other than that, don't know anything about him.

Blay's B&C buck was taken WELL over 2 decades ago. There are no secrets and no bargains for really big bucks. If they have big deer and consistantly kill them, you'll have to pay BIG$$$$$$$$$.

Gordon Blay's big buck was taken in the mid-70's as it was 1st place in the 16th B&C Awards in 1977.

I spoke with him a few years ago at a sporting show either in Sacramento or San Mateo, and my impression was he is more of a drinker now than hunter/guide/outfitter. His nose looked like a road map and a lost look.

But then I could be wrong but that was my impression of him. Had that big buck at his booth and was still trying to get hunters to hunt with him. If anyone has a copy of Colorado's Biggest Bucks & Bulls 1st edition, look on page 129.

Just for the record I knew when Gorden's buck was taken, wasn't emplying anything except he knows his chit, and has guided people to some awesom bucks, a few years ago cathy etchling (spelling..?) took a nice buck, but I seen his clients take better then her's.

Kilwatt' Gordens been a christian for some time now I wouldn't think he had a drinking problem.?.

your right about the website, look up Colorado outfitters on the net..he'll be in there.
